In not happy news
Sep. 9th, 2004 08:43 amMy transmission started acting funky last night on the way back from Danvers. Brian followed me out to Natick to drop my car at Saturn and drove me into work today. Here's hoping its something small. I wouldn't be surprised if its *not* something small though . . . the car is a 2000 with 109k miles on it. Yeah - I do a lot of driving.
In "my adviser is flakey" news, I e-mailed him my internship proposal and mentioned that for some reason I didn't have a mailbox with all of the other students in the program. Doh! He thought I had graduated (since I had been in the Master's paper class last semester). Heh, that's comforting. Its a good thing I was warned to keep up on things myself (more than one person had to stick around for another semester due to him saying they were OK to graduate when they really needed more credits).
On that note: I'm completing the graduation application at this moment. Now I will do the dance of joy.
We'll see you all at goffee tonight (if other errands don't take up too much time).

Date: 2004-09-09 05:55 am (UTC)It's what will evenutally kill my boy.
You heard how rough he sounded - although I desperately need an oil change, a repair in the front (minor) and the local garage who installed my muffler didn't do a very good job securing it, and it needs a replaced band.
*sighs* Here's hoping he gets through just one more Season. I'm hoping for two. I'm sure your car is fine - it should be something minor. Mine's approaching 200,00 miles *meep!*

Date: 2004-09-09 08:23 am (UTC)Well, I was in the car a minimum for 2 hours a day M-F. More if there was traffic, even more if I was going to school that night. I also do most of the weekend driving (since my husband drives a Dodge Ram truck which is awful on gas mileage - but was his dream car and a necessity for us doing work on the house).
I really love to drive, so I'm usually tough on my cars (and I'm glad I'm not stuck in traffic so much anymore getting to and from work, because it was making me insane) :) Saturn has treated me well (both in the operation of the car and the service from the dealer) so I'm hoping this continues . . . even if I need a new transmission :/
