I read on the band's board the other day that someone named "Jen" (I think) who is a Miss Mantown and on their DVD and presumably calendar http://www.waaf.com/jocks/hillman/ (pics section probably isn't work safe) put a Waltham song on her segment of said DVD. I'm wondering if she's from Waltham and if I actually know her or something. I'm guessing the guys are really excited to have a Miss Mantown pimping their music! ;)

In the car this morning when I got sick of the NPR 'pre fund drive' I switched over to WAAF to hear the guys talking about the release party yesterday where the DVD was shown. A caller mentioned Waltham, that the song was on the DVD, and that they were up for a BMA tonight (and of course, that the station should play more of them). :)

Anyway, go vote: http://www.nemoboston.com/bma/index.html . Here's hoping they get another win like last year (the Dresden Dolls are on there too, and I'm sure they'd like your vote as well). And I think I know what the answer is, but is there any chance in hell that any of you have (or will be getting) this DVD? It would be cool to see it (though I can't believe I'm saying that).

Unfortunately, I think Waltham has a snowball's chance in hell of being heard on WAAF. They're too lowkey and talented for AAF.

AAF already plays them (its just a matter of how often they play them) :)

Well, they played that AAF show opening for QueensRyche years ago right?

So with the record deal, if they get any traction anywhere else, which I have no doubt they will, AAF will play them non-stop and ramble constantly about how they made them!

Yeah, totally. I detest AAF, except for Mistress Carrie. Is she still even on there?

She is on middays still.

I don't detest them, and I do like that they are semi-independent (unlike, say WBCN which is the arm of CBS), but I don't pretend they are the be-all end all of radio anymore. Actually harder faster and mike shu at night isn't bad.

At one point in time I listened to AAF almost exclusively, but then that awful whoever & Birdsy was on and then some other awfulness...I gave up on it. I listen to 'BCN on the way to work for Howard Stern, but at work I have to listen to cds, and then after work or on weekends I seem to be only listening to 'FNX or 'BOS when not listening to cds. I really think most broadcast radio is crap now, and it's too bad.

Oh really? I had no idea and I'm suprised. I NEVER listen to the radio, nevermind AAF, anymore.
