Has anyone ever used a pedometer successfully?

My co-worker had one and said it was crap and doesn't work. It looks like the one I have is the same (its just frozen, and won't let me set it up).

Ah well - I guess I'll just have to guess how much I'm walking during lunch :/

i've got one that works, but it was 150 bucks (and on sale). the only ones worth their salt from all that i've heard (from doing all the 3-day walks and stuff) are the digital/gps ones.

the one i got is here. many 3-dayers (myself included) used it with much success.

Thanks for the pedometer info. The one I have is from Ballys and cost me $9 from an Avon catalog . . . I'm not suprised that the thing is toast :)

If I get into walking more hardcore I'll definitely pick one of these up.
