Poor kitty

Max wouldn't eat this morning. This means that I couldn't give him his insulin (or his blood sugar would drop too low). After showering and dressing I tried to coax him into eating, but no dice.

I feel bad - his body is going to be working overtime today as a result of the high blood sugar . . . I hope it doesn't totally screw him up.

My poor, old, kitty :/

He's 19. And diabetic. And Asthmatic. And has a heart murmur.

The funny thing is, he looks fantastic, and most people are amazed he's as old as he is. He's fine if maintained with insulin so for now we just keep shooting him each morning. :)

Wow, that's impressive. I think we had one cat live up to 17, but she was showing it at the end. She had even disappeared a few years earlier for a month and then returned so we thought she was gone then.

Do you keep him inside?

"Do you keep him inside?"

Yep. He's been an indoor cat his whole life (and I've got to wonder if that's got something to do with his health).

I've had him since he was 10 weeks old - he's definitely my baby!

It might have something to do with it. Certainly limits losing him to a bus or something, which sadly, I've had happen.

I wish I could have another cat, but wife is deathly allergic.
