Airfare is booked! We'll leave Wednesday 4/6 and return Sunday 4/17. Both flights are direct Boston to Heathrow on British Airways. After checking a bunch of air+hotel package deals we found we could actually do it cheaper booking separately (assuming the hotel in London and B&B in Edinburgh we want to stay at are free).
Tomorrow Brian calls about accommodations and if I get time during my lunch hour I'll call a potential pet sitter (to give my friends a break). Whoot!

Date: 2005-01-10 07:53 pm (UTC)I might actually just take a few days in NYC right after the end, and go to Leipzig in May, despite assuring my Lou I wouldn't go to Germany without him. It's calling pretty hard, and I'd go for the weekend, then to London/Cambridge.
You're always doing for others, including me, so it's my pleasure, despite the grumbling. It's more the hour, and I need to be awake anyway. I don't recall grumbling that hard last time anyway! And obviously, Limo De Tia is happy to get you to and from the airport. (OK, "from" is MUCHO easy, "to" might be an issue. We'll talk.)

Date: 2005-01-11 07:53 am (UTC)hopefully you got lots of good tips and comments about stuff to see. but the most important advice, explore a few things thoroughly. don't hurry through and see a bunch of stuff half-assed. and be flexible with EVERYTHING. if you like something, stay. if you don't like something, ditch it and move on down the list. and HAVE LOADS OF FUN!!
not that you don't already know all of that, but i know how tempting it is when planning a huge vacation to want to cram as much as humanly possible into it. sometimes a reminder doesn't hurt.
