Snow!

At some point I'll leave the warmth of my house and shovel off the front porch and steps. Brian's boss is apparently coming to snow-blow our sidewalk. He just bought one this past week, and asked Brian to take him to pick it up (it would fit much better in the back of a Dodge Ram than in his foreign hybrid car). Out of the deal, he's going to walk around the corner with it and clear our sidewalk, whoot! The guy next-door was shoveling, making this awful cough noise (like he was getting sick on the snow or something). Hence, I'm just going to wait till he's done doing what he's doing before I go out there. Blech!

Arisia went very well for the NEG, we raised $500 for Katie! Though members of the group have attended each year this is the first year the NEG did officially. Many stayed away due to past negative experiences or what they had heard about the general attendees. Somehow Brian was able to convince people to give it a chance and yay, I think they all had fun! Of course, scantily clad women help :). Here's the pics from members of our group: http://www.501neg.com/photos/thumbnails.php?album=213 . My guess is that we'll be back next year and will plan a bit more - hopefully getting a Star Wars Celeb to attend, and doing some kind of costuming/armor/prop workshop or something. One thing that was odd, it seemed way less crowded than last year. Brian and I roamed the 7th and 4th floors during the afternoon to pass out Imperial Citations and it was a lot less congested than last year. Perhaps people stayed away due to the snow? I know more people pre-registered than before, so if that's the case, a bunch of people lost their money. At least getting dinner at Fire and Ice was easy!

I hope you're all having a great weekend! I'm glad I don't have to get my ass out to Malden to work today. Other than cleaning a bit in the house, shoveling out of the house, and walking down to visit Gram and my parents I'm looking forward to sewing, reading, knitting, and keeping warm with the hubby and our fuzzy kids today.
