My company is doing a charity drive, donate your old prom/bridesmaid dress for a girl to use at her prom (who otherwise couldn't afford one). You can help out too! Find info here http://www.antons.com/belle/ , at the drycleaner collecting the dresses.

I don't really have any formal gowns to donate. And my wedding gown is so obviously a wedding gown no one could wear it to a prom. ;)

I'm going to look into donating my wedding gown somewhere.

An idea I've also seen, was for people to have parts of the gown used for baby items (dresses, christening gowns) or saved for future generations (my cousin's gown had parts of both her mom's and my grandmothers).

I'm hanging on to mine. I could wear it again (since its a Rennie style, and not a traditional wedding dress), its just got to be somewhere that's not smokey or dirty. :)

Yeah, I don't know if I'm going to count on either a future daughter wanting to wear it or me feeling like paying someone to do something with it. we won't be having any christenings, so that's out. ;)
