Its feeling almost like spring today. Its cool out but not as cold as its been. My pregnant and uncomfortably warm co-worker opened a nearby window and the breeze feels nice for the first time in a while. The sun has moved out from behind a cloud for the moment.
Spring makes me think of driving with the windows down, feeding the ducks, talks on the front porch, working on finals while sitting in a coffee shop with my love, and getting excited about summer (walking in the sand, swimming, hiking, faire, cook-outs, drive-ins, watermelon, the hammock).
What does spring mean to you?
I'm going to plant things in the ground this year. In year's past I've been busy writing a thesis, or busy shopping for a new house, or not wanting to invest the time and money into a place we'd be leaving in a year or so. This year, I'm literally laying down roots. In addition to trip planning I'll want to keep this in my mind over the next month so that when the frost is gone I'll be ready!

Date: 2005-03-16 06:29 pm (UTC)I saw these guys and others coming up yesterday and I wanted to squeal. Spring is all about the euphoria of things coming alive again for me. I get so excited when the leaves return to the trees!
Earlier in the week I ordered a ton of seed, both for the vegetable garden and flowers. I'll be starting some indoors and direct sowing the rest. Can't wait! Also, on Monday I repotted some houseplants: clearly I have a fixation on spring. :)
