I spent 80% of today in meetings at the Melrose campus. I hate days like this, because I feel like I haven't gotten anything done. I finally ate lunch at around 2:00 and feeling like my head was going to explode closed all of the applications on my computer, walked away for an air-break, made some chocolate mint tea, and tried to get things in order. It never ends, you know.
Tap/Jazz tonight. Since there aren't any kids around I'm hoping that they'll open the windows and let in some of the springish air. Of course, today is just a taste of what is to come. Snow/rain tonight (iirc from NPR). I'm excited about the warmer weather: evening walks, driving back-roads with the windows down, cool beach trips, carnivals. I am determined to get to the drive-in this year, and to go canoing on the Charles!
Last night's bellydance class was a fun one. We were working on choreography based on a story. We students choreographed routines to our student show music based on:
-the Little Red Riding Hood story
-the Sleeping Beauty Story
-two people passing by, never touching base ('2 ships passing in the night')
-a bank hold-up cops/robbers situation
Our "homework" is to collect stories this week and think of choreography for them. By the end of next week's class our group will have the 'story' for our routine that we'll perform at the student show in late June.

Date: 2005-03-22 10:32 pm (UTC)He hides in their room, follows them, and discovers they go off to some magical realm where they dance all night (some versions it's fairies, some it's devils, and the number of princesses varies--the Caribbean version has the hero refuse the princess's hand, saying he won't have a wife who dances with devils).
Since it's based on them dancing the night away, plenty of room for working belly dance in.
12 dancing princesses

Thanks!
