Happy (early) birthday to me! Brian ordered us a pair of tickets to see Tori Amos at Harborlights (or whatever its being called now) in August. What an awesome venue to see her! I've only seen her in venues like this before - the Orpheum and Avalon. This will be a nice addition to the 'collection' of experiences.
Musically this summer is shaping up to be interesting.
Now, what to do on my actual birthday? I'm debating between dinner out with Brian, a night at Hampton, or a dinner with friends (perhaps finally trying that Tapas place on Moody Street). I'm not sure where I'm leaning, all I know is that I want it to be something that involves little planning or annoyance on my part. :)

2) However, the Tapas place in Moody really is nothing short of incredible. The place is small, though, so you'd need reservations, which would cause you (or a likely volunteer) a bit of annoyance.

Date: 2005-06-10 06:12 pm (UTC)Its basically little bits of different food - think, a ton of small appetizer plates. Its a fun thing to do with a group because you can order and try a lot of different things (and its Spanish cuisine too). People tend to drink pitchers of Sangria with them too (though I wouldn't be partaking of that).
The place I'm talking about is called Solea and is on Moody Street, and apparently really good. The same people that own it own Dali in Sommerville (one of the alleged trendy Tapas places people seem to rave about). Either way, Brian and I have wanted to try Solea and have been waiting to get a group together for it since going with 2 people would just be kind of lame given the nature of the food.
Re: Tapas
Date: 2005-06-11 04:05 am (UTC)It is. Also the waitstaff tends toward the, uh, easy-on-the-eyes (there's one particular Gypsy-looking waiter with the longest eyelashes known to man), in case you're in a shallow mood that evening. ;)

Date: 2005-06-10 06:14 pm (UTC)I did this a couple of years ago and it was very frustrating. People were late (hence dinner getting kind of messed up) and it was hard to find people all over the beach. But I can't deny the appeal of sand, skiball and lobster (and fireworks) with friends.

I want to try this place at some point anyway, its just a matter of when. As for reservations I figured on that . . . I was going to let Brian handle it if it came to that ;)
