On my first eve off from the show I did many things:

Some laundry
Cooking and having a friend over for dinner
Bunny playing and watching
Chatting with said friend (I think he's getting an insight into my secret crazy personality, not many people save my family, people I live around and my very best friends get to see that).
Making WAY TO MANY pizelles with Lachesis until the wee hours of the morning (90 of them to be exact). It was really nice though since we haven't talked with her in a while; her stories about J always amuse me! :)

And this morning with my silver coupe carriage awaiting I came down the back stairs with a bound and went off laden with a large paper bag (covered with a trash bag to prevent it from disintegratingin the rain). I headed to work to make my annual cookie deliveries to my co-workers and found that a few of the newer ones are HUGE pizelle fans. Perhaps I'll end up breaking out the iron for more than a few times a year now! I think that by far that pizelle iron was one of my more favorite wedding shower gifts - every Italian household must have one!

Unfortunately there aren't quite enough cookies left at home for our holiday get-together this weekend so I think I'll be spending some more time in the kitchen making either more pizelles or some perhaps holiday sugar cookies (I used to love to play with cookie cutters as a child and B and I have a pretty sizable collection of them).

I get so domestic around the holidays, I'm glad that now I have the time to actually do it!

I'm jealous that you have time for all that! I usually make about 4 types of cookies, but this year I'm probably just going to my my favorite cookie-press cookies that my grandmother used to make. Moving right before Christmas kinda put a damper on my normal holiday domestic activities. :)

oooh. i'll have to remember next year to make cookies. it's one of the awesome holiday traditions our family used to have that i've let slide by.

are pizelles the flat waffle like cookies or the 3-d irons covered in batter dipped in hot oil things? if the latter, i have an old iron w/different shapes if you'd like to borrow it sometime. :)

They are the flat ones (I had never actually heard of the other kind of cookie that you are referring to before last night) :)

Cardamon? hmmm. nope - these are specifically made very "bland" - unless your family called them something different - then again, I could never tell what my polish grandmother was saying. I bet julishka knows tho! J? :)
