Fitness, work, friends, music and costuming rambling
FITNESS:
Doing a pilates class with an instructor for the first time on a Monday and following with a ballet class on Tuesday serves to make one's muscles sore. We shall see how upper body weights and elliptical cardio go today! :)
WORK:
Taking charge of my professional development is a good thing. I expressed to my boss that I thought going to all of these EMR product demos was kind of a waste of my time and he agreed. I've gotten so much done in the first few hours of the day that its not even funny! We have a meeting Friday that I've got to prep for. Its also the first time I'll see the Medical Director (MD) who was highly amused that I missed the last meeting for an Iron Maiden/Black Sabbath show. Most of my co-workers have no clue, really . . .
FRIENDS/MUSIC:
Farm share pickup is tomorrow but I have no clue if the Di's are even back in this state yet (*hugs* to them). I'm hoping I can convince Brian to hit Dark Sky tomorrow so we can check out some bands and chill with the Sandweasel (Jawa Brian). Rumor has it we may hit a show this weekend too, since there are bands that I like and that Brian likes. When I start going to shows again it reminds me of how much I like them, and how much a part the local music scene was in my life for quite a while. Other interests pop up, life interferes and all that. Still - I like to go back sometimes. It also gives me a chance to see old friends that will always have a special place in my heart.
COSTUMING:
What to do tonight? Maybe I'll finally start sewing that Golden Age Catwoman dress. I made sense of the craft room on Monday night and was able to actually find the pieces to it! After that and some mending I think I'm going to take a hiatus from costume making for a while, because I just haven't been into it. I want to look at the massive store of fabrics and craft goods I have and make some club clothes, work clothes or gifts for people. Trying to do things like pay off my car has made me re-evaluate past spending on things, and the usefulness of say spending multiple hundreds of dollars on an Arwen costume that I've worn twice. More discussion on this later . . .
