Today's training was much like yesterdays. At some points I was kind of lost and frustrated (and thinking: "what the hell am I doing in here with a bunch of developers?"). At other times I actually seemed to catch on pretty quickly and looked around to find said programmers all confused. Its weird really. If I understand things conceptually I have no problem with things like coding or stats or other activities that in general I find pretty boring. They are skills I've developed not for their own benefit but as a means to an end. I had to code to get data to analyze. I had to do stats to said data to analyze. Etc. I tend to not come across as very techie but sometimes these skills just come from nowhere and surprise me. As with anything, I guess its all relative . . .

Tomorrow is the last day of class. I'm not sure if I'll go back for subsequent training sessions (intermediate and advanced) later on, but I think I've gained some basic skills that should help us out in the short term. Having a 2 day work week this week and a 3 day work week next week (off Th and Fri for Dragoncon) and a 3 day workweek the following (off Mon and Tue for Dragoncon) shall be interesting. I'm guessing I'll actually be looking forward to a regular schedule when all of this training and geeking is done. I'm also looking forward to cooler weather and darker mornings and nights. And apples. And pies. And crunchy leaves. And sweaters.

Ballet class tonight followed by socializing with classmates at Margarita's on Moody. I'm looking forward to our regular dance schedule resuming and having 2 classes per week again (to supplement the work I'm doing at the gym).
