Manray is now gone (some pics, not mine): http://www.shaunkelly.net/Manray/Manray.html
Its weird, I miss going dancing and seeing friends and such, but the demise of that club kind of killed my desire to do the clubbing thing. I'm not saying I'll never do it, but I just don't have that drive I used to.

So Long, Farewell
Date: 2005-10-15 06:24 pm (UTC)Manray became THE club to go to when the AXIS police forbid people to slam dance at the club. Yes, we used to be able to slam in the '80's. I saw RevCo summer of 1990 at Manray and the entire club was a mosh pit, the most violent pit I've been in my life and I am way to old now to revisit those days.
People think Tia or myself get catty, you should have been around Second Generation Goth, sheesh, much much worse. I wouldn't go out for a long time because of it. I had to get older, with a thicker skin to be able to deal with it.
That said, I miss being here and have the DJ's recognize that I'm here and play what I like. I miss the social routine, and yes, it gets tired very quickly, but I'm a creature of habit and I enjoy getting dressed up and going out. Other than sex and eating, it's one of my greatest pleasures. And being in Texas, the sex is just not happening. While Manray as we knew it was over and done 5 years ago, I still greatly enjoyed going out and I will miss it terribly. It is difficult to be strongly Goth identified and be surrounded by Muggles day in and day out who JUST DON'T GET IT.
By the way, I'm here until the 24th, but I go to Montreal 16th through 20th. If I go to Goffee, I'll post from Roland's house that day.
