We finished painting our kitchen cabinets last night (save for some touch up that I'm sure it will need tonight) and Brian excitedly put new handles on all of the doors and drawers. You'd think he was opening a new action figure or something! Next we'll tackle the messy job of ripping apart our walls (removing tile, wiring, patching). Here's hoping we can get into that this weekend (we want to give the cabinet paint time to really cure first before throwing plaster dust around). Its been a long time since we've had to buy drywall or joint compound (we'll also need a light for over our sink to match our fan http://www.homedepot.com/prel80/HDUS/EN_US/jsearch/product.jsp?pn=161346 , some random wiring supplies and if $ allows, perhaps our shelves - I can paint them while Brian is wiring/plastering). Then follows countertop, wall tile and final paint. There's a chance we may just get this done by Thanksgiving if we keep motivated (and if funds allow).
Last Friday's Ballroom Bootcamp had a metalhead, surfer girl and a country boy learning the Rhumba. GOD, I love that dance! Its a challenge to be slow and sultry at the same time (I've always wanted to learn it). I disagree with the surfer girl winning - she just wasn't slow/sultry enough (was more bouncy - good for other Latin forms but not this one). It appears that the female teacher may also have a bun in the oven - her belly was looking a bit rounded (shows up more given her thin dancer legs). Related, they are teaching a Salsa class at my gym on Monday nights. I saw a bit of it when heading to the locker room after working out. I'm glad I didn't sign up. Its very much at beginner level and hence, there's not much body moving/pushing the body much to be had. I'd love to try that at some point too, at some point perhaps a group will get together for one of those nights in Somerville.
