I'm such a dork! I found an ebay auction for the tile I wanted for the kitchen (just by searching for "ceramic fruit tile")! I bought 4 tiles (a buy it now, coming from Maryland). That should be enough to scatter decoratively given the small bit of wall (sink backsplash) that's to be tiled.
Tee hee! I rock! I'm usually able to find these kinds of obscure things with some digging so its rare for me to not take the challenge. Here's hoping it doesn't take forever to get to me. Given that there is more wiring and patching and then the counter to go in before the wall tile, I think we'll be OK. :)

Date: 2005-11-15 03:00 pm (UTC)That's the whole idea :). Reddish brown cabinets, textured venetian plaster walls in a pale yellow, dark forest green counters and off-whiteish backsplash tile on the walls with these decorative guys mixed in. The lights are a green/black/cream tiffany style.
We had this really nice stone-looking dark grey ceramic tile on the floor in Framingham too (1' square). It was pretty, but also very expensive. Given that the floor in our Waltham house is just natural wood (inoffensive) and in good shape we'll wait a bit before sucking up the cost and work of a new ceramic tile floor . . .
