Back at work. I'll be stuffing a buttload of envelopes today to get huge year-end checks out to doctors. Yep, this is what my graduate degree was for! ;)
We went to O'Neill's in Malden last night to meet up with some of Brian's old HS friends. He has finally seen that Waltham is not the only place where one will always run into people that they went to HS with. People sitting at our table kept seeing others they recognized but hadn't seen in forever in what seems to be the local watering hole/pickup joint. It was neat meeting some of the people that Brian spent so much time with as a teen and who he has shared stories about. Its too bad that one of them lives out in CA, because they all picked up like no time had passed (and we geeked about heavy metal bands into the night).
It seems that Gram's dementia is progressing. My Dad e-mailed to say that when someone was visiting this past weekend she mentioned to them that she got a merry-go-round as a gift. They said "Oh, I think its a gazebo". "Oh yeah, I guess it is a gazebo". When asked who gave it to her she didn't remember. I'm not so broken up about that (because I saw the happiness it gave her when I first presented it). What bums me out is how fast she seems to be declining (or perhaps she's been here for a while, its just we didn't know).
In more positive news - our regular tap/ballet class for tonight is canceled but we're having a ballet class instead to make up for the one we missed on Xmas Eve. It does a body good! We'll hit the http://www.chateaurestaurant.com/waltham.html after class for a townie dinner together. Toasted raviolis don't do the body good, but I may get a smaller appetizer size with a salad. Now that Xmas is over its back on the healthy eating bandwagon!
