Ebay snipers can kiss my ass! Though on second thought, they can't because my ass is too bootylicious for their likes, weasely jerks! Ah well, I'm creative and resourceful when it comes to gift giving so I'll do fine (and perhaps direct some money locally rather than to some person elsewhere in the country). Bwahahaha!

In related news, Brian has to figure out what he wants to do for his 30th birthday (no pressure or anything). ;)

We shall have to see what we can do. Of course I need to remember when it is...I think I have it noted somewhere.

Hmm after this past weekend.... I'm thinking there should be a responce like: "He's turning 30... Quick 10 units of Naughty Nurses STAT!"

Except that I, too, was a Naughty Nurse, and I am sure the man wants none o' that.

Nope, that would imply some secxist assumptions about attainable medical professions by men and women. Or something...

I was not in a skimpy outfit. Just my kilt and a shirt. Showing some leg. It was me and 8 beautiful women. Oh the horror, the horror..

Okay now THAT is Funny!!!!

Here we have a group presenting a sexualy implied image with a HIGHLY workplace inaproriot maner of dress... And they're worried about having a politically correct standard set of titles.... :-) Aomehow that seems like it should be a skit on "The Daily Show"...

Yeah you nd 8 beautiful women. I feel your pain, you poor bastard. :-)

Forgive me, Dancer, for I have sinned: it's been 6 days since my last sniping session.

I mean, it's either that OR you keep driving up the price because someone gets into a bidding war with you just out of sheer stubbornness. (And yes, that someone was once me, when I was new to Ebaying. There I was, bidding another dollar, another dollar, another dollar. I once paid $30 too much for something I believed was a rarity, only to find the same thing reappear over and over and over each week. Thank goddess my iridescent carnival glass addiction is over!)

I don't snipe, but I know someone who does, and the above statement makes me sad.

THEY CAN'T HANDLE THE BOOTY! :)

In all seriousness, I understand that sniping works. I was expecting it, and waiting for it and watching the auction as it was ending . . . I just didn't click fast enough to up my max bid in the last second! Its probably a good thing though, because it was way higher than I wanted to be paying for the damned thing. I just hope that my initial high bid made them pay more than they expected to in the end via sniping, the bastards!

That's the way I always try to look at it. Most snipers have software that does the sniping for them, so they don't even have to work hard to outbid us. I rarely buy anything on eBay that isn't a Buy It Now. I just don't have the patience, and therefore very rarely win.

Ebay should put in an easy fix for snipers.. heck it would make it more like a real auction.

If a Bid is received within 1 hour of close of the auction it pushes out the auction by 4 hours.

This would be like.. going once.. going twice kind of thing. A seller would get more $$ for his item and people would not beable to snipe

Hmmm I like the suggestion for pushing out the bids, but I'd suggest it a little differently...

If a new HIGH Bid is received within 1/2 hour of close of the auction it pushes out the auction by 1 hour.

I think this accomplishes the goal, but still closes out the auction in a more reasonable ammount of time. This would also prevent a bunch of low bidders from keeping an auctiuon going indefintely without changing the actual status of the auction results.

those changes would then make them live auctions. the premise of ebay is the silent auction with a deadline. sniping in the computer world is just as prevalent as sniping at a silent auction in person.
