My husband, the girl
Mar. 10th, 2006 01:06 pmHere's some of an e-mail from Brian (RE what we have to bring to the costuming panels that our groups are running at the Museum of Science tonight):
"aside from last minute fett stuff, i'm all packed. and yes, 1/2 the house IS coming with us ;)
2 suitcases, 2 bags, 2 helmets a jetpack and a gaffi stick. and the camera, but that's little.
we're bringing:
- your at-at stuff for the armor table.
- my fett costume
- my spare fett parts
- parts of my tusken
- jedi boots for garrett
. . . tia's x wing stuff is packed"
And this my friends, is why we sometimes say I'm the guy in this relationship. I prefer to fit what I need in a dufflebag that I can carry myself. :)
Our house should be an interesting (and crowded) place this weekend. We'll have a wookie, a (for real) 7 months pregnant Padme (and their 3 year old, the babysitter bailed apparently) and 2-4 of their friends (tbd) staying with us until sometime on Sunday.

Date: 2006-03-10 06:18 pm (UTC)either I missed something or that's another Tia.
*grins*
I WOULD like to have a nice Xwing parked in the yard, complete with pilot's outfit. although I think Jedi robes would suit me better. If I were going to step anywhere in the 'Verse it would be into a Shaak-Ti outfit.
Perhaps I'll stick with Cosplay. *grins*
Good luck this weekend - that sounds busy busy! Just like me!

our SW panel
Date: 2006-03-11 07:07 pm (UTC)Pretty much. There were 3 15 minute panels spread throughout the night. Between those times (we were there from 6-9 PM) we had tables set up with stuff by theme, and people could look at, play with and ask questions about stuff. The tables were manned, and about 20 or so costumed characters roamed around. I'm not sure if you know the layout of the musuem of science at all, but they had us in an open area near the exhibits on the lower level (where they do the animal shows). It was nuts, because there were a ton of girlscout groups there having a sleepover (in addition to people attending our workshop). There were actually a lot of artists and theater costumers there, in addition to SW geeks.
The themes:
Soft costumes (sewing) of various types
Bounty Hunters/Armor/Weathering techniques
Aliens (jawas, tuskens, wookiees
It was really great! We may end up with a video of it, if so I'll let you know :)
