Note to self
Mar. 15th, 2006 10:05 pmPick up new Dresden Dolls album and the new Dita book that came out yesterday, and ponder the new Morrisey (I wasn't crazy about the last one, on the fence on this one).
I love Bust magazine's articles and reviews. Its often very thought provoking. Without getting into too much discussion, things from this mag:
-Betty Page and views of her (versus actual her) inspired by the new movie, 4/14 I think
-How Target isn't the best place to shop, though it sucks us in
-The actual simplicity of pinup style makeup techniques (and how the style was influenced by war time)
-The ton of good books and music out there to check out
-On the opposite side (related to a book review), how changing would it be to stop buying "stuff" for a year (save for essentials)

a notion similiar to this has crossed my mind recently. I passed by a Newbury Comics today and I thought "There's one or two things I should check out." But then I reeled myself in and just kept walking. I already possess enough music to fill an IPOD or 7 ... a year without "new" music/books may be a struggle ... but even as I type: damn, I could save a fortune.
