And so it begins
Jan. 30th, 2002 07:25 amThere was a full moon on Monday, its an auspicious time for starting up new projects (heh, lets hope that this one doesn't take me too long - I'm aiming for 2.5 to 3 years).
I like spending time in my car and driving into the city. When I was an undergrad it put me in the right frame of mind for my studies. My Manager's girlfriend suggested an alternate driving route which I'm going to check out today (and its for real this time). I don't care if I sit in the car for an hour or longer to get there because I'll save a few dollars a week and it only takes me 20 minutes to get home at night.
Its amazing how dark it is, leaving the house around 6:40 AM and how less than an hour later I'm able to make out the details of the people outside my window that are making their way from the parking lot to their respective buildings. If anyone needs a free breakfast just stop by your office really early - I'll bet that the bakery deliveries just sit inside the front doorway waiting for the cafe to open like they do here (yesterday I noticed that the box of donuts was ripped open in the corner).
Green tea is a good thing early in the morning to ease sleepy eyes and a scratchy throat - but its too quiet in here. I can't wait for the workday to be over so that I can start on my journey to academia (hope I get there early enough and get some time to explore).
My sweetie is at home today, resting in preparation for the "crazy and long workday from hell" (tm) tomorrow. Though I'm excited about new beginnings I also wish I was at home curled up in the comforter with he and the cat . . .
Ramble, Ramble, Ramble
