Brian and I have Arwen and Aragorn costumes that we're thinking of selling. They are really beautiful and very decent quality (particularly the Aragorn armor), but we just don't wear them. They were worn at Dragoncon 2004 and Halloween 2004, that's it.

Now that hype of the LOTR movies has died down, I'm not sure how much interest there is out there (he's already posted on the Replica Props Forum, but there hasn't been interest there). Were any of you looking to aquire something like this:

Green Arwen ROTK Dress: http://www.tk7602.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=33
Dress is from Museum Replicas, Headpiece was custom made

Aragorn ROTK armor:

We're just putting out some feelers right now to see if there may be interest and haven't really thought of a price yet. We're not looking to kill anyone, just looking to get back what we put into them. Anyone?

Is a Museum Replicas "Medium", the bust is around 38" or so (and is the smallest part of the dress). I ordered a medium and they sent me something with a medium tag but it was HUGE (it would have fit Brian). A tailoring friend took it in to its current 38" state. She also added a loop of pearls at the bottom of the skirt train, so that I could walk with it without it dragging - its quite long.

I think I paid around $140 for it. Brian spent about $30 on materials for the crown (and a ton of time making it), so I think I'd be happy to get around $125 or so for them both (shipping would be separate). I'll throw in the shoes and ears too - they cost next to nothing and aren't totally accurate, but they worked well enough (size 8.5 slip ons).

OK, I paid $160 for it originally - here's some more info:

I'm such a dummy!

The waist is probably around a 30 or so. *That* would be the smallest part. :)

I'd *LOVE* to talk to you about getting that for Curtis. How tall is Brian again?

Brian is about 5'8" or so.

Here's what he said about it:
"I'd take $300 for the armor and throw the soft parts in "as-is", maile *not* included. So that would be shoulders, bracers, greaves for $300, and the cape, inner and outer surcoats for free. Size is roughly a men's XL, a bit on the bigger end of that."

The leather was made by our favorite gothy leatherworker friend - the belt is all hand engraved and is able to hold a sword. The trees of gondor on the armor (all leather) were stamped - he ordered custom stamps to have this all done.

The surcoats have some issues, but they are large enough that if you wanted to keep the fabric I know you'd have no issue tailoring them to Curtis (and hey, they are free anyway). The outer tunic is this funky leather-looking, shiny synthetic fabric and the tree of gondor is painted on. The inner tunic is probably something like a cotton . . . we weren't too picky since you couldn't see much of it.

Think about it and let me know. Brian would probably want payment via paypal, and for you guys to pay shipping (though the leather bits weren't the heavy part - it was the maile that caused that problem bringing it to DC, so I don't imagine shipping would be too much).

I think Curtis would make an AWESOME Aragorn, my desire to sell these things aside. :)

Ok, I say *DIBS* for the moment! LOL! Hopefully the auctions I have up will do uber well for me to be able to get this to you asap. Will talk to curtis about it but yea; I've ALWAYS wanted him to be able to do Aragorn. :)

Hee hee, you guys would make a great Arwen and Aragorn! :)

I don't think Brian has had much interest, so just keep me posted. If he gets any serious 'I can pay you right now' interest, I'll let you know (but I'd rather them go to someone I know, and know would appreciate them). Ashton is going to be upset about us selling them but they just sit in our attic at the moment, so I'd like them to stay "in the family" if possible, and go to a good home. :)

the armor itself will be easy. the soft parts... well... you can do those better than we did anyway ;)

this is the only set of aragorn stuff ashton ever made. he had 3 different sizes of "tree of gondor" stamps made just for this project!

OK, I'm a dummy. The inner surcoat isn't a cheap cotton . . . its a red velveteen (w/ the gold trim).
