The arsenal of Megadeth

dancerjodiI don't own a Megadeth t-shirt, but they are one of my favorite metal bands so this must be rectified (its the same for Maiden, but I'll fix that next week).
I was going to fix this at Friday's show, but the women's style shirt is $35! Its cool:

The angel shirt *is* cool, but I think I'd prefer a baby doll. The image on the scorpion shirt is neat (and I do like that song), but So Far So Good So What is my favorite Megadeth album ever, and the explosion shirt goes with that.
What do you other metalheads think? If I go with the explosion shirt assuming $5 for shipping, that still gives me $30 to play with this weekend. It would mean I could also get the Delovely soundtrack from iTunes, and the new CVB Book http://comeinsidekitty.com/
I think I may have answered my own question. A metal shirt, music and a cool gothy kid's book is a much better deal than just a metal shirt!

i get what people below are saying
about how "dave wins" or dave is now more bad ass,
but he sure came off like a whiney prat in the 80's.
and since i live in the past about everything else,
i see no reason not to do it about this, too :)
i listen to Master of Puppets, and i curse dave,
and i am happy ;)

I can see that.
I was pretty ignorant about why they had the feud back then (I knew Dave was booted, and knew it was something about him being an asswhole alcoholic, but I also knew they were all big drinkers back then). I just let the music speak for itself, which was why I liked both of them (though, I leaned heavily in the Metallica direction).
Post the Black album, things definitely shifted. :)
I think you may be amused by Some Kind of Monster. Amused in that watching a train wreck, but still amused. As a die hard Metallica fan I felt like I needed to see it. In the end I really wanted to believe in them, and wanted to like them again (what they are doing now), but still couldn't bring myself to it.
I hear they've been in the studio again and are making music that sounds like the original stuff . . . we shall see! Either way, I think Megadeth's most recent album though different and more evolved from older stuff was quite kick ass (and I'm looking forward to hearing the newest album that comes on 10/31). I also like that they continue to be politically aware, and their songs reflect that. Metallica - I've heard the newer stuff, and can't quite tell you what its about (my opinions of their sound aside).

like,
they always billed themselves
as top shelf speed metal
and yet somehow
it was way slower to most everything else i was listening to.
politically aware is good, though.
i'm still struggling to find the right idiom,
but i've been pushing hard to get (lisp) onto more "meaningful" territory
in terms of lyrical topics.
we did one "relationship" song (that i'd already written)
but beyond that,
we're trying to keep the songs more about life or society
rather than the more typical (for me) "i'm so sad because you left me"
type of song,
which frankly are too easy to write and a bit of a cop out.
anyway.

Date: 2006-09-26 06:49 pm (UTC)As far as Some Kind of Monster, the documentary, my eyes bugged out and I stopped being able to take them seriously when they showed they were paying $40,000/month for a band therapist.
The bass player auditions were pretty cool, though. Rob Trujillo is an excellent choice (saw him jam with Suicidal Tendencies during the Live Shit tour with, ironically, Metallica), and I shudder to think how Twiggy Ramirez from Marilyn Manson would have fit into the picture.
