Crafty, Music, Tea
Nov. 27th, 2006 06:14 pmSeeing Mary Poppins yesterday on a big screen reconfirmed that I want to sew a Jolly Holiday gown. I think throwing Brian into a chimney sweep getup and making her red outfit from that scene would be cool too (you know what I think about dirty men, and all of that). I have the best Victorian hat to wear to tea or related costume events, but no clothing to go with it. Maybe the chimney sweep dress would be multifunctional from that perspective?
I've really enjoyed knitting lately. I guess I'm not beginner (or at least, advanced knitters keep telling me that) so I'll call myself intermediate now. I'm wanting to start more complicated projects but am frustrated with the lack of experience with more complicated techniques. I'm also frustrated that I don't have a lot of time to just sit and knit sometimes. I think its helped me to set some conservative deadlines for things; at least I'm getting stuff done.
I picked up the new Loreena McKennit (love it) and the new Damone single on iTunes (Billy Squire's "Everybody Wants You", love it also). I'm craving a live show, but life intervened preventing hitting some of the recent ones. Another conservative deadline: I'm going to hit some show, somewhere, in the month of December.
Totally unrelated, green tea with maple sugar is really soothing - you should try it!
