NYC hotel, near Javits Center

Hey Folks! Brian and I were thinking of going to NYC for Comicon this year (February). Does anyone have any good suggestions for a place to stay near the Javits Center? Given we'll have costumes and such, staying nearish to there would be good. Thanks in advance! :)

Edit: and we'll be seeing Evil Dead The Musical there too - I bought tickets for Brian for his birthday (and just told him, so now I can share with you too)!

when i had a conference at the javits center for work i stayed at the new yorker hotel. i think it was about a 10 minute walk away. it seemed pretty typical for most new york hotels (i.e. small rooms, decor wasn't terribly nice), but it was clean. *shrug*

I don't know what your budget is like, but last time I had to go down to NYC for my job, I stayed at the Affinia Manhattan, which is across from Madison Square Garden, and a few blocks away. I seem to recall that their rack rate is in the high 200's, but the suite that I stayed in was rather excellent and was pretty spacious. Good, I imagine, for assembling large costumes and what not.
