Mal, surgery part 2
Apr. 17th, 2007 09:34 pmMal's surgery went well. He's a bit crazed from the drugs and we have more for him over the next few days to help him deal with the pain (a narcotic actually, an opiate - freaky). I let him roam a bit without the collar but when he started to focus more on cleaning near the stitches we put it on him. I did tie it on with a valentine's ribbon that reads "with love", so he's a bit more fashionable now, right? Either that, or I have a sick sense of humor. The gauze-like stuff the vet gave us to tie with was easily pulled apart the last time and then he started trying to eat it, so we figured we'd use something else and head it off at the pass.
The poor guy has finally settled down a bit. He spent the last couple of hours trying to take the collar off (while alternating 'hunting' the catnip mice that are laying around everywhere that he dragged out from under the couch when he was collar-free earlier). He's isolated from Jayne until the stitches are out, 12 days or so. Brian slept down here with him last night so its my turn tonight and we'll alternate from there. Poor baby! Jayne isn't doing too well either; he's kind of freaked out over why we're closed off from him, and each time we go upstairs he's super affectionate.
I love our little fuzzheads, and I think (hope) that they know that the annoying stuff we do to them is because of that fact. :)

She seemed to get that if we put it back on when she tried to wash that maybe she shouldn't wash (getting the bucket back on was always a pain though) and as long as she didn't wrestle with the others she was able to be in the same place as the siameses.)
