Pet hair

I was talking to someone recently, who told me of this thing they use to remove pet hair from their furniture. Its a reusable thing, and works wonderfully. I can't remember who! Was it any of you? Mal's shedding is out of control - worse than any cat I've had. The peel-off, tape-like lint brushes work well, but I have to go through a lot of sheets to get it clear (and it just feels really wasteful).

EDIT: I remember what it was know - a rubber brush that works w/ static. I'm going to give it a try. :)

I had a brush too that uses static cling to lift the pet hair/fur from the couches etc. it works wonderfully.

I start out with my vacuum, when it gets really bad with Egon. There's a small attachment that came with my vacuum that works wonders on furniture.

ah, the joys of long haired cat ownership.

It seemed to me that the mitts generally use the material that's like the "rough" side of velcro. Might be worth a try if you're feeling crafty -- I suppose you could test it if you already have any velcro lying about ... dunno if getting a large square of it to make your own mitts would be cheaper than a store-bought mitt.

There is this rubbery brush thing that I use.

It looks like a squarish-shaped brush, instead it's made out of a rubbery material that really attracts the fur. There's also a scraper/blade end of this rubbery brush so that you can pile the fur into an easily removable ball.

I think I got it at Bed Bath & Beyond. Does a great job on the gobs of fur that ends up on the bed due to the 3 Feline Americans and 1 Dog-Cat (the dog who thinks he's a cat)

We use these on our couches, they're great for immovable objects but not as great for clothing.
