Sort of. It was another weekend with a good mix of stuff and relaxing.

We finally saw Kinky Boots - the operative from Serenity makes a great queen. We checked out the new Tandy Leather store in Chelmsford (I needed dye to turn my white ballet slippers black) and found it to be way more organized than the old NH or MA stores that closed years ago. We saw Knocked Up and I really enjoyed it. It wasn't the stupid comedy that I was expecting, but had some neat normal relationship issues and situations raised. During the birth they actually show the baby crowning - woah! Alan Tuduyk (from Firefliy/Serenity) was in it as an E! Entertainment Executive. He'd show up as Pirate Pete in Dodgeball, which we watched on Sunday night. We weren't intending the weekend to be full of Joss Whedon Actor movies, it just kind of turned out that way given the order of our Netflix list.

The Charlestown Bunker Hill parade was yesterday. 2.5 miles turned into a tiring almost 4 hour walk given the stops and starts along the way. Being security checked by a Navy guy for bombs under your car and suspicious things in the trunk is kind of nerve wracking when you have a bunch of realistic-looking prop weapons with you. Mmm, Navy guys! There should be a ton of good pictures once they are all uploaded at http://www.501neg.com/photos/thumbnails.php?album=725 . We got pictures in the parade and also hanging out in the Navy yard (at the Constitution, on a military ship complete with our Gunner aka The Tiggerette sitting at the massive gun controls). Once the initial security check weirdness was over they were really accommodating, with our ranger opening up his on-base home to us to use for changing, water, etc. I did learn that I shouldn't eat at 8:00 AM and then go until 5:00 PM with no food, little water, and hours spent inside of an AT-AT helmet! :) The Navy Yard is a part of the Federal Parks and Rec program, and we talked to our guide about future events with us (he seemed really excited). Our CO thinks it would be great to stage a photo op on the Concord bridge http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Old_North_Bridge,_Concord,_Massachusetts with the imperials on one side and the rebels on the other - awesome!

Its crazy dance week with our show next Sunday. In 7 days I'll have 3 dance classes, one rehearsal and one show - eek! :)

That is, however, funnier.

Tandy Leather in Chelmsford? Really? Do you have an address? I've been bemoaning the loss of the Manchester and Waltham stores, however disorganized they were.

I don't have the address, but you could find it on their website (which was where we found it Saturday when we were driving up there).

That's where our girlscout troops do bridging every year, so it must be either semi-reservable or open for gatherings during public hours. In either case, if there is interst, I can contact my old girlscout leader and find out how it worked.

I think Bob got the business card of the National Parks guy in Charlestown, and he's probably going to try and coordinate through him. Of course, we'd need a day that we could get a lot of folks (on both sides) down there! :)
