The evening had an unexpected turn last night! After a day of errands and homework we got a call from a Fieryredhead asking if we wanted to join her and a group for her hubby's birthday at Karoun ( http://cuisinenet.com/info/?v=237&/Boston_Cambridge/rest/3207.shtml ). I thought it would be a good opportunity to check out Milena, a woman that I'll be calling next week about lessons: http://www.daughtersofrhea.com . We planned on going to birthday party #1, then heading to dinner and the performance and lastly heading to birthday party #2.

We met at 9:00 for dinner and the show started around 9:40 - Milena was amazing (I've never seen anyone bellydance with a platter covered with candles balanced on their head before). B had mentioned earlier in the evening that though he thinks bellydance is a sexy art form IN CONCEPT he had rarely seen someone he thought was sexy do it. He did enjoy the performance tonight (a serious understatement)!

The show was pretty long and it took forever to get the check (mmm, the food was SO good) so we got out of there around 11:00. We decided to forgo the journey to Somerville for birthday party #2 figuring that by the time we got there and found parking we wouldn't be able to spend much time socializing.

*************

Its been a weekend of different things and different cuisines and I've had a lot of fun; I kind of feel like I'm not in the 'real world' because B and I have been enjoying ourselves so much and haven't seen many people.

Perhaps its a good thing some times - we started staying in more due to our lack of enthusiasm with the drama which pervades our little social circle. Unfortunately it still shows up at times and makes me uneasy. How do you deal with it when you're around drama but it doesn't involve you directly? God this makes me think of high school. It makes me really sad . . .

Sometimes I wish I wasn't so damned emotional or empathetic :)
