The teacher told us what we'd be wearing for our jazz routine to "Mamma I'm a Big Girl Now" (from Hairspray) in the show. We are to be creative and to come up with something on our own ala John Waters. Folks are talking about go-go boots and huge wigs and headbands. Having finally watched the original Hairspray and moving on to the more recent musical version this weekend (I love Netflix) I'll have some inspiration. I'll have to hit some thrift stores and see what I can come up with.

Brian cut, sanded and stained our new den shelves last night so here's hoping they are dry enough to go up tonight. And we need groceries. And I want to do my nails. And and and . . .

After all of these years I've finally picked up the soundtrack to http://christmas.radiocity.com/ . I may not see it this year (a bummer, because its the 75th anniversary) but I can live it in my head whenever I'd like to. The CD's back cover pictures the Rockettes in their signature green velvet dresses - the same one I wore in the production I was in with http://www.reagleplayers.org/ . Bob Eagle pays a pretty penny for the rights to do that show, use their original choreography and to purchase older costumes as they are fazed out (my bum was in pants that held a Rockette bum once)! The Parade of the Wooden Soldier routine is still the most amazing feat of teamwork I've ever participated in, and I get excited at this time of year thinking about performance (both the flash from the audience's view and of the sweat and tears that happen behind the curtain).
