Finally seeing Natalie Merchant was awesome! The blisters I developed walking around in cute shoes all day and night wasn't. Going over tap routines with Jaylee tonight should be interesting. I'm bumming around the office in some silver flats that I picked up for the summer at Target recently that I can only describe as "genie shoes" given the flat front of them. I feel like I'm scuffing around in my slippers! No walking during lunch for me (that's OK, I'm really getting into my book and I'm nearing the end of it).

Given all of this craziness I'm looking forward to sticking around the hood tomorrow night, and perhaps spending some time in the den with the bunnies running free. Poor Batty is definitely getting older. More white hair is coming in on his back and he's having an issue keeping his little bum clean. We have a new ritual of 'clean off the poop stuck to the poor bun's bum, trim the tiny dreds that seem to form despite good grooming'. He's not suffering from diarrhea or anything - one tiny soft poop gets stuck and he's not doing a good job of cleaning it off, so then more end up sticking there (it doesn't help that he sheds like a madman - we are keeping up on the brushing/plucking each day, but its never enough). I'm wondering if its just a normal 'he's getting older' kind of thing. The vet's age estimate puts him at about 8 years, and house buns can live usually 8-10 or so years (Praline is a bit younger we're guessing, given that his age was only an estimate since he was an adoption after the fact while she ended up at the shelter as a baby). We'll keep an eye on him and see how it progresses. I don't feel like having to bathe him on a regular basis (we had to do this years back with Flopsy when he was too overweight to reach his butt for cleaning . . . we remedied the problem by getting him Praline to chase around). :)
