This is just so odd

I just called a realtor about a listing that I saw in Waltham - its a good price, nice area, lots of land for Waltham (.3 acre) and its a STONE house that has a fireplace, 3 season porch, garage, finished basement AND a hot tub.
The price went down and its been on the market for 2 months because the people that looked at it didn't like the fact that its RIGHT next to Rt. 95. I'm going to drive by this afternoon and see what things look like from the outside and if there aren't any major issues I'll be calling to schedule a time to see the inside with the realtor.
I'm not going to get too excited about things since anything could happen (who knows, there could be serious flood or termite damage in it) but its exciting all the same.
Weird, just weird!

Date: 2002-04-08 10:40 am (UTC)When I was looking into buying a place I was actually surprised at how quick the process was even with pre-qualifying, etc.
Best of luck! I can't wait to hear all about this!

Date: 2002-04-08 01:20 pm (UTC)The thing is totally out of the 70's but its got lots of space and land for the area. I guess its a good thing that my Dad is a contractor :)

Yup
Date: 2002-04-09 07:50 am (UTC)I drove by and from the front the yard looked really small. We're going to look at it tonight more to meet the realtor and for the experience of looking at a house. I don't really like ranch's to begin with (it was the large amount of land, fireplace and hot tub that first got us excited). The realtor told me that that place has been on the market for 2 months and they keep dropping the price.
The Rt. 95 thing for the noise wouldn't bother me . . . if we got it for a really good price (like, 25-50K cheaper than they are asking) and we liked the inside it would be do-able.
I'll e-mail you offline for realtor info (perhaps we can all meet up for lunch or dinner sometime to chat) . . . we literally JUST started looking and the only one I've talked with so far is Kirsch (on Moody Street, been in the city since the 40's). I may also try Coleman and Sons (since, they seem to have most of the property in the city). We'll be looking for a house (not a 2 family).
And if YOU need any info on the Waltham area in general (the community, resources, etc) let me know . . . I've lived here forever (as has my family) :)
