Brian and I were going to Down with Tempo last night. At about 8:00 I went upstairs to get dressed and WHOMP, I was hit by the worst feeling fever I've ever had, just like that. I was cold and sweaty at the same time. My muscles were achey. My skin was hot. I got dressed, put on my makeup and we went on the porch to wait for our ride. I seriously felt like I was going to pass out OUT OF NOWHERE. What the hell? No cold or stuffy head. Temp was about 100.5 (not sure what my normal is so I can't tell how high it was).

As expected, Brian put the kabosh on dancing and I painfully changed out of my goth clothes and washed my face. I passed out on the couch till about 10:30, when Brian relocated us up to the bedroom. When I turned in for the night my temp was about 101.5.

I was feeling a bit better this morning but was still feverish (back to 100.5) so I called into work. At one point I thought that a hot tub would be nice (I know the temp isn't good, but I was so sore). Getting clean helped me feel a bit better, but I keep putting on more clothes, taking them off, putting them on, taking them off. The cats keep coming by to check up on me.

Daytime TV sucks. I have some reading to do but my head and eyes hurt. What the hell? This is the first time I've had a fever that didn't come with bronchial issues. Very weird. No dance class for me tonight.

I hope you feel better soon! :(

Its horrible to feel sick, and even worse when it ruins fun plans. We are going out dancing at Xmortis this friday, you should come out to make up for not being able to go out last night!!! :)

Holy fuck.

This could very well be some other kind of infection. Any lymph gland swelling?

I hope you're resting. I'll call later.

Something really similar happened to me on Saturday--while we were up in Salem, I felt out of nowhere like I'd been sandbagged, with all the symptoms you mention plus nausea and splitting headache. We got home about 9pm, and I was asleep on the couch by 9:45. Sunday I felt a bit better, enough to exercise, but Monday was a feat of endurance and today's a little shaky (though I think I'll go to dance class). I didn't think to check my temperature, but it wouldn't surprise me if I had a fever. I was hot out in the living room but hurt in the a/c in the bedroom. So maybe there's some wierd thing going around.

Meant to add--one of the dancers I was with on Saturday was just diagnosed with strep throat, I would really, really like to not have that!

I had something similar last week - felt like the worst hangover of my life for 3-4 days. Stomach ache, skin hot, zero energy, lightheaded, and needed to nap constantly... No sore throat though, just felt like like vile death.

Blech.

Sounds like a viral infection.

I hope you feel better soon. Take care of yourself!

oh ick.
my advice, just be aware of your symptoms in case its an infection of some sort and not just a normal bug (though with what everyone else is saying, I guess something like that is going around).
I hope you feel better soon!!

Yikes.
I hope it's nothing and you're feeling better soon.

Hrm. I did have something similar a few days ago when I tried to work out and immediately felt overheated and shaky...I had theories, but it was weird. If it's similar, it'll go away soon. :)

er.. West Nile Virus??

I know that it can be deadly to someone with a compromised immune system, but I wonder what it does to someone with a healthy immune system.

I do seem to recall hearing that they found it in mosquitoes in Watertown.

Anyway, I hope you feel better soon!
