I want a bagel with cream cheese (as unhealthy that would be) right now - but I'm lounging in plaid pajamas and don't feel like getting motivated to the shower or out the door yet.

We're looking at house #2 today. I know I wanted to look at tons of houses and shop around a lot before making an offer but I'm thinking that we'll really like this place (we love the neighborhood and the outside and from all accounts it seems like the inside is nice). We brought the listing to show some of the netgoths at coffee and Ash said that the house itself is bigger than his (weird, it is a similar style after all) - of course, he's got WAY more land since he's in Newton :)

I printed out a ton of MLS listings so perhaps after looking at this one we can get addresses from our broker and do tons of drivebys. I found from the MA Association of Realtors database that he's one of the few in the state that particularly mentions "Buyer Representation" in his profile. Though we never actually said that's what kind of arrangement it was, he seems to be working in that direction - so we're sticking with him.

I think that if this one feels really good we'll make an offer (shit, what will we make an offer for)? We CAN pay the asking price and I don't want to bid too low and have someone else grab it. Hmm . . .

We found a Real Estate Lawyer, a very cool gothy guy originally from NOLA that we've met a couple of times - his current office is in NH so he's not what you'd call local (he's a friend of a friend and is licensed in both MA and NH). He left a message on our answering machine stating that we probably wouldn't need his services per say, just some advice on what we're doing and what to incorporate into the P&S agreement when it gets to that time. I'm going to call and pick his brain about the services that OTHER real estate lawyers in the area have been recommending and see what his take on it is. If I think we need someone we'll just see about hiring him or see if he's got any suggestions of people in our immediate area (we found one that looked good in Lexington . . . not too far from here).

I started yesterday on the 2-shots-a-day routine with Max. As much as this is a big pain in the ass I'm getting acclimated to it. Damn, I wish I could go back to bed after waking up at 7:00 to give him that shot! Perhaps I'll get some homework done (only 5 more classes until the end of the semester and I'll be taking the summer off to deal with this whole house thing).

Mmmm, must resolve this rumbling in my tummy . . .

Don't forget to leave mortgage money for new furniture and renovations and stuff! :) Fun fun fun.

Todd?

Sounds very exciting -- although it all sounds like it is happening very quickly too, which would give me stress. From watching other people though, there does seem to be this part of the process that is really quick -- just the finding the place and finalizing seem like they go on forever.
