Brian and I booked a trip to NYC next month. We want to catch the Tim Burton exhibit at the MOMA, and it is super cheap to stay in the city at this time of year. We booked the New Yorker, one of the grand old original New York City Art Deco motels only a few blocks from Penn Station, for only $110 a night. We found it from our NYC Comicon experiences, being the official hotel for that con.

Brian's birthday is about a week before we are going, so it will be a nice celebratory weekend, just because. Do any NY/NJ friends want to try and meet up? We'll be there 2/19-2/21.

We're planning a trip to CV in Orlando in August and NYC Comicon in October is on the wish list. It will be a novel concept, traveling to the city without a huge armor bin!

$110 a "month"?! I'm sure that's gotta be a typo, yes?

That's a great deal. :-) Thanks for the tip. I usually have tried to get a hotel in my old neighborhood, CPW in the upper 70's. FAGGEDABOUDIT! Too costly.

We stayed at the New Yorker a few years ago while visiting NYC with some folks from Canada. Generally, it was a little rundown but not terribly so, and certainly worth the price. They had some suites that were good for splitting amongst a group of six.

I'll be going to the exhibit in April during the two week overlap between the Tim Burton exhibit and the Addams Family Musical on Broadway.
