There is a listing for a house in Waltham I've been watching. The asking price is the same as the value that our house in Framingham was assessed for. Its got one less room than our house but I knew it was in a convenient area based on the noted elementary school. We drove around to try and find the thing last weekend and had no luck.
I forgot that two years ago I got an account on the Coldwell Banker (it was DeWolfe at the time) site. The site gives addresses of property so I looked this one up. It would be a 5 second walk from there to Brian's new job (basically, its off of Main street about 2 blocks from the Waltham common).
I poked Brian to ask him to call the realtor. It could be small, it could need serious work (though the listing notes that its "rehabbed", whatever that means). Its funky too - built in 1850 linkie-poo! I want to drive by it after work today. Hell, I'd love for chips to fall into place and for Brian to call the broker, the broker to get permission to see the thing, and to go look at it *inside* after work today. Yeah, I'm nuts and I move fast . . . that's how the squirrel gets the nut after all!
I know this whole process will take a while, I'm no stranger to that. It would be fun to start looking again.
I can't wait until next Monday when Brian learns what's going on at his current company. I want to know what we'll have to stick in the bank from the severance (and what kind of lag there will be for pay for the new job).
