Nov. 25th, 2003 10:30 amI like being on vacation. Brian and I took a day trip to North Conway, NH yesterday (more writings on this trip will come later).
I'm planning on sewing, working on homework and trying to take a huge chunk out of the work for my final papers, and spending time doing girly things like a home-manicure and sitting with a masque. Ah, I feel so decadent! At some point I need to make an apple pie to bring over on Thanksgiving to my parent's house. I'm even hoping to wrap the Xmas presents that I have for them and leave them there on Thursday - after dinner we'll be putting up their tree and I figured I could leave them under the tree since I won't have much room in my house for them.
I have to go to a discussion at Beth Israel Hospital with one of my classes today. Its being presented on the idea of "root causes" of mental illness and we're being given free lunch by some pharmaceutical company (its geared toward doctors, but open to the public). I haven't hung out in the Longwood area since oh, when I was still at Simmons. :) My professor lives right over the line in Brookline and she's letting us park at her house, whoot!
Here's a great link to an article about Prince, The Foo Fighter's Darlin' Nikki cover and the state of things today:

I won the contest at work for decorating a holiday hat. Here's pics of the hat and my prize basket - its a Xmas/Halloween themed hat and to stick with the Nightmare Before Christmas theme there are Jacks on there too. The Halloween fence and the Christmas trees actually light up:

I hope you're all having a great week! We should see some of you at Man Ray tomorrow night :)

re: ManRay, maybe I'll get J out of the house to go; although I'm not sure about it yet, this might be my 'last chance' to see some people for a while. we'll see.
I totally forgot you were on vacation. :)

See you tonight!
