They pulled out - apparently paying over $290k won't work for them. Why it took over 24 hours to figure this out, I have no clue.
Ken said their broker is really annoyed and commented "well, you know how it is when all of the family comes along to look at it".
Good news though, another couple that came by loved the place and was really excited about it, but its the first house they've looked at. They want to shop around a bit before thinking of making an offer.
Back to square one.

Date: 2004-04-06 12:54 pm (UTC)maybe yours will stick with this couple too. Stay positive.. once the weather turns and the flowers come up and the light glows through your windows, people will be all over it. and willing to pay more!

Yes,
Date: 2004-04-06 02:23 pm (UTC)They did make a formal offer - a really low one. We didn't accept it, but countered with one higher . . . and they bailed.
At this point in the game we're not that desperate, we didn't want to sell for so low when we had some other interested buyers :)

Yep
Date: 2004-04-06 02:34 pm (UTC)Yes :)
I hope we don't live to regret it. I don't think we will (the piece of crap across the street sold for around $280 I'm guessing) so we should at least be able to get $300 for this place.
*knocks on wood*
Re: Yep
Date: 2004-04-06 08:19 pm (UTC)My Father's house - that I worked on with him to restore through the 90s - sold for $320 once we found the right buyer, we turned down many lower offers before that. Someone will come along that finds the place perfect, it's got a lot gong for it.
