They pulled out - apparently paying over $290k won't work for them. Why it took over 24 hours to figure this out, I have no clue.

Ken said their broker is really annoyed and commented "well, you know how it is when all of the family comes along to look at it".

Good news though, another couple that came by loved the place and was really excited about it, but its the first house they've looked at. They want to shop around a bit before thinking of making an offer.

Back to square one.

"Did they make a "formal" offer with a deposit? And do you get to keep some of that deposit now?"

They did make a formal offer - a really low one. We didn't accept it, but countered with one higher . . . and they bailed.

At this point in the game we're not that desperate, we didn't want to sell for so low when we had some other interested buyers :)
