We came, we saw, we marched . . .

I'm starting to recover from the weekend of little sleep in DC. Dionysia and I headed out with a group that her Mom was coordinating from CT. There was a reporter on our bus - you can read the article here.
I don't have the time to write about the experience here - what I can say is, please, whatever your view on this issue, GET OUT AND VOTE THIS FALL.
I took some pics with a throw away camera, I'll post them after they are developed and scanned.

The inspection at the Waltham house was yesterday - some issues but nothing major. Anyone know where we could get a good sized wardrobe (1 bedroom doesn't have a closet)? Anyone know where we could get a collapsable dining room table? I've seen these before, where you pull it out of a cabinet as long as needed (I'm not sure if they even exist anymore).
We had some ideas of future work (winterizing the sunroom, putting a wood-stove in there) but we'd need the cash for them first. Also, the rooms are much smaller than what we have now so we'll need to be creative with furniture and arrangements. These are just some ideas for organizing that may save us space :)
We took a bunch of pics, I'll post when we get them up later.
The inspection on our house in Framingham is today - here's hoping there aren't any deal-breaking (or price changing) issues!
The P&S (crosses fingers) on both places should be signed by the end of the week. This also means that we have to write a check for almost $18,000 for the Waltham house. Ouch! This means our savings accounts will be officially emptied out (its a good thing closings will happen in 2 months, and that profit from the Framingham house will give us the rest of the downpayment i.e. 15% in addition to this 5% AND will leave us money for closing costs).
But damn, I don't think we'll be able to hire movers. Here's hoping we can hire movers at least for the furniture. After this week we'll have to figure out how all that will work, and how (and what) we'll pay for it. We'll need to consider the fact that we'd probably need to have our house emptied of stuff on the 29th, but couldn't move in till the afternoon or night of the 30th . . . whee fun!
