I am a packing machine!

I'm taking a break from the work today to (possibly) go to Salem and hopefully meet up with Deadwinter. Tonight is dinner with the fam.
I finally framed a piece of old newspaper we found in our kitchen wall when we did the remodel last summer - I chose one with an ad for a corset that was priced at $0.89. Its from Sunday January 1, 1893. This find indicated that our Framingham house was older than we thought (we were told it was built in 1917 - kind of odd seeing that the identical one that Vinny owns was built in 1890, and that there was newspaper from 1893 in the walls). It will look nice in our new house, either in the living room or dining room. With an antique gold finish frame and burgandy mat it looks all professional like. OK, so I'll miss being a 5 minute drive from Christmas Tree Shop :)
I went to a party at an old co-worker's house yesterday. They were celebrating pride weekend, 25 years being together, their impeding 50th birthdays, and one of them finally finishing nursing school and getting a job (oh, and it was a housewarming party too - they've been there for a year but were doing tons of work on the place). It was great to see my old co-workers and reminded me of what a great, neat relationship we all had. It was kind of like a family, and it was good to be with so many similar souls again. They discussed the atmosphere at the company for a while and I'm glad I don't work there anymore - still - I miss them quite a bit and miss the structure and the work too (not that I don't like what I'm doing now, its just different). Everyone is pregnant, wow! All but one of the married childbearing age women there has either had a baby recently or is going to be having one soon. Very weird! My friend Melanie will have baby #2 on Tuesday (she had a ceserean for the first one - this will be another).
My friend Steve lives around the corner from Mattison - hee hee! I could hear the party as I walked past Mattisons over to Wallace Street to find the partying people with nametags on, surrounded by a sea of rainbow balloons. I think the nicest touch was the cake that simply read "celebrate life". I think it was the most social, most active party I've been to - they even had a scavenger hunt with 200 questions about the couple that you were supposed to mingle with the crowd to answer ("what is Steve's middle name", "who worked giving dance lessons on a cruise ship", "how many years did the couple live in Lexington", etc). I miss working with Steve - he's such a great guy!
Oh, and if anyone is looking for an apartment let me know. My friend Stephanie has a 3 bedroom w/ an office, dining room, living room, kitchen and porch within walking distance to Wellington Square. They are asking $1800 a month for it but "could come down a bit" with the right tennant since they refinanced recently. They want someone looking to stick around for a while - their current tennant is breaking the lease.
