It was too hot to cook yesterday, so we went to D'Angelos for subs (we still had $ leftover from last weekend's budget). Of course, when I got home I felt guilty for the inevitable rot of the food in our fridge if we didn't do something with it, and it had cooled down a bit so we decided to cook anyway. There's some turkey chilli and grilled jerk chicken in the fridge for later use. I can't wait to see what we get in our first farm share tonight, and figure out what to do with it :)
After cooking Brian and I sat on the front porch for a while, he with a laptop and me with either bubbles or a book. Its nice to have a bigger porch, have a place that's nice to sit, and have random passerbys that say hello. The crazy wind and rain moved us inside to sit near open windows to continue the breeze. Brian continued to geek (shocking) with the laptop and after reading some more I picked up my knitting. I have about a month to finish nephew's Gryffindor scarf for his birthday.
In not fun news, a squeak noise started coming from my front left wheel last night. Its very similar to the brake pad noise (squeal when I'm moving, stop when I'm braking). Its a good thing I'll have my butt parked at Saturn on Saturday morning anyway for the 120k tuneup (where they check the brakes). It may serve to be one expensive morning (ouch), so I'm waiting to pay bills until after that's taken care of.
Damn humidity. At least in Boston we don't have to deal with it too much during the year.
Is anyone going to goffee tonight? Brian and I were pondering it, but it wouldn't make a lot of sense if nobody else was going . . .

Date: 2005-06-09 01:11 pm (UTC)Humidity sucks. I am in Myrtle Beach again and it is around 100 with the heat index. I have to carry around a cloth with me or else I am blinded by the sweat running off my forehead. Just miserable. And no monkey, to boot. :(

Date: 2005-06-09 01:25 pm (UTC)In other news my Check Engine Soon light is on again. Stupid dealer, but THIS time one of the MEN knows what it is. I hate that I hate the women there!
On a different topic, everyone at my new job wears cute open toed shoes, with pedicures, and I'm being a lemming. Interested? I'll have to do some spa research, and I don't know what your schedule looks like. Lemme know.

Date: 2005-06-10 02:51 pm (UTC)I'll have to check it out. The stylist I go to had to sell her salon and the new owner closed it for some unknown reason, so I don't have anywhere down here I'm loyal to.
Thanks for the info.
Feet!
Date: 2005-06-09 02:17 pm (UTC)YES :)
I have no clue what your schedule is like now, so let me know what works best for you. :) I can take a day off if I plan in advance (I was thinking of doing it for just this reason, around b-day time).
Alternately, some night or a Sat or Sunday would work. I have dance practice the next Mon and Tues nights, show on the 25th, other than that and a wedding on the 18th I think I'm free. :)
I could also find a place if its easier for you (though I'd also be up for trying the place Devina mentions out in your neck of the woods).

Date: 2005-06-10 02:55 pm (UTC)It doesn't matter to me where, I just want something NICE. I think I was spoiled by my first time being in that place we went to - every pedicure since has been "enh."
I work til 6 daily, so a weekend will probably be best. However, I've been here a month with no signs of being fired *evil grin* (Actually I might get that raise we need to discuss if I keep one of the clients as happy as they are right now!) I was thinking about a mental health day, but if we can do it on a weekend, or after work that'll be fine.
Why don't you email me with the weekend times you have free. I have to work for CPA #1 the lastSaturday of the month, and am contemplating a trip to NYC next weekend, but that's in the air. HEE - Tomorrow actually would work, except thats rather short notice. My toes aren't ready yet anyway! Meanwhile I'll ask around here about where they go.
