Its Friday!

That means I don't have to work tomorrow! That also means that I'm seeing Megadeth tonight! Again! Twice in the same year! At a nice waterfront venue with great acoustics and clear views from everywhere! With my sexy stud of a husband! I'm actually driving tonight, because the cost of parking on Sunday seemed equal to what we paid for parking at Alewife and taking the T back and forth. And I leave you with some lyrics
Where were you when it happened
Where could you be found
Were you at the front of the stage
Or in the underground
From S.F. out to Old Brit
New York to L.A.
The world of metal changed forever
Back in the day
Well that was back in the day
And if you weren't there
It doesn't matter anyway
Because you wouldn't understand
Live to die
Die to play
Every day and place
Leave a path of metal
Across a world from stage to stage
Well that was back in the day
And if you weren't there
It doesn't matter anyway
Because you wouldn't understand
In denim and Leather
We were a one for all-all for one force
Knocked Rock n Roll on it's ass
And put metal on the course
Back in the Day
If you wern't there
It doesn't matter
Cause you wouldn't understand...
This is our way of life
A life that was born free
To follow orders how to live
Was never meant to be
Hints of thunder, seeds of lightning
The power hits the stage
The music was exciting
The mania raged
We all had the fever
Our ears started to ring
Feeding this wildfire
Consuming everything
Metal's king back then
And still is to this day
others imitate or challenge
But it never goes away
Apparently some quiz says I'm a "Cool Modern Geek" - who knew?
The farm share yesterday was quite varied: collards, massive amounts of tomatoes (I'm going to try and make sauce this weekend), peppers, potatoes, carrots, summer squash, cukes and a pumpkin! I have to figure out what to do with the thing.

Date: 2005-08-26 01:22 pm (UTC)If any of those tomatos are Heirloom, I'd take a couple off your hands. I LOVE those, and I hate tomatos except in sauce, in general. There's something about the Heirlooms. Xani tried to explain it, but I still don't get it.
And, on a tanget, CPA #1 came through with a check yesterday for last weekend. I feel AWFUL for cashing it but I was running on empty (she's having a slow period, and has done enough forme that I SHOULDN'T be charging her but she insisted. *shrugs*) That means I have money for bookcases whenever is convenient for you! Let me know when you're ready to move them out, I'm free most of the weekend and a couple of nights next week. Pre-DCon nights. I bought the cutest DVD rack yesterday - it's shaped like an X and while smaller than my BJs rack, it fits PERFECTLY in the space I need it to. Yay!

Date: 2005-08-26 04:11 pm (UTC)it's simple really.
"heirloom" doesn't refer to one particular type of tomato, but rather any genetic strain of tomato (or other fruit/veggie for that matter) that has been continually passed down, unaltered by man.
in this modern age, many fruits/vegetables (especially tomatoes) are genetically engineered or bred to be easily shippable. in the tomato's case, this results in a product that you can bounce like a rubber ball, and has just as much flavor as said ball.
heirloom varieties of tomatoes haven't had the flavor bred out of them, so they still taste like tomatoes. it's a weird concept, I know.
I'd think it's safe to say that you like tomatoes, you'd just never really had one until 2-3 years ago.

Whatever works best for you! :)
