Email is working again, whoot! Its a short day today too - boss is letting us go at around 2:00.

The kitchen is getting there. The walls are plastered and mostly primed (Brian forgot about our little fridge/pantry nook, and we had run out of primer by that point anyway). We figured out what we'll do for storage next to our fridge. Rather than making wood shelves and painting to match our cabinets (expensive, time consuming, tough to get at) we'll go for a a simpler/cheaper/faster option - just getting another black metal shelf unit that's like the one near our back door, only on wheels for easy access to the back (we picked it up at Target a while ago for like $30)). I'm hoping we can get a bunch of needed supplies this afternoon/eve and have a fun evening painting and prepping (perhaps we'll get the counter in on Friday, tiling sometime this weekend, and then we're done - wow!). When this is all over I'll post some before and after pics for you all to see.

I want to get it all done so we can clean the place (dust is on everything) and take out our Winter holiday decorations. I can't believe its that time again. Friday night is the Waltham Common lighting at 6:30 with carols and Santa, though I'm not sure if we'll go. Those lights always look so pretty across the Charles from the Prospect Street Bridge, and I'm excited to be in a position to drive by them each night after work again. This will be our first year with a fake tree which is kind of odd. Given how small our living room is and the challenge we had last year finding a decent real one that would fit, we sucked it up last year and bought a skinnier one on clearance to use moving forward. Its got fake pine cones on it though, so its not all that bad! I'll get that pine smell from a front door wreath and some candles or something. If anything its less pine needles to keep up on (and our cat won't be eating them, puking them up, and drinking out of the stand).

I'm looking forward to lots of winter cooking and baking in our new(ish) kitchen. Its quite the time for nesting, or something like that :)

I'm also looking for swag goodness for that pine heaven as well. We'll be using the little artificial one I "grew up" with.
glad you are feeling bettah!
